ROTHHAAR RECURVE PRESENTS THE FLIGHT-RITE SPINE TESTER

  • CUSTOM BOWYERS KNOW ABOUT IT ...
  • TOURNAMENT ARCHERS KNOW ABOUT IT...
  • PRO-SHOPS HAVE USED IT FOR YEARS...
  • ALL ARCHERS NEED TO KNOW...

ARROW SPINE MUST MATCH THE BOW...TO GET OPTIMUM ACCURACY...AND THE BEST BROADHEAD FLIGHT!!!

Bare shaft shooting proves the need for correct SPINE.

Slow motion photography reveals the effect that arrow SPINE has on performance. It is the single, most important consideration in bow tuning be it longbow, recurve, or compound.

A new dimension in tuning is available to any archer with access to a quality, accurate spine testing machine, such as the "Flight-Rite."

Arrows absolutely must be matched to the bow in spine, and for consistent groups should be matched to each other in spine. Don't rely on arrow manufacturers to do this for you, as it is too costly and time consuming for them to provide the spine accuracy you need. Arrow charts can also be too generic and unreliable as a guide for your bow/arrow combo.

The ultimate goal for any archer/bowhunter is to get arrow flight that is as straight and smooth as possible without the need for extra large feathers to compensate for flight problems. Too heavy arrow spine is as bad as too light when it comes to matching to the bow. Flight tendency to the left or right of the aiming point, or erratic arrow flight are clear indications that the arrow spine is not correct.

By testing all your arrows on the "Flight-Rite", you can know for sure that your set up is right and that your arrow flight will be right!!

''Flight-Rite" Spine Tester is a well-made precision instrument designed to last a lifetime. It is constructed of machined steel and uses live needle bearings on the main pointer balance. The welded frame is mounted on a sturdy hardwood base for durability. It is easy and fast to use and is an excellent choice for the professional or amateur arrow maker. It will work equally well on bare shafting or finished arrows.

WOOD ARROWS

1. A SPINE TESTER WILL GRADE BULK SHAFTING INTO MATCHED SPINE WEIGHT SETS. A PERFECTLY MATCHED SET WILL SHOOT TIGHTER GROUPS THAN MOST FACTORY MARKED SETS.

2. IT WILL PROVIDE THE CORRECT NOCK ALIGNMENT BASED ON THE STIFFEST CROSS SECTION OF THE SHAFT (WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS ALIGNED WITH THE VISIBLE CROSS GRAIN OF THE WOOD)

3. THE "FLIGHT-RITE", BOW WEIGHT CONVERSION SCALE WILL IDENTIFY EACH ARROW'S BOW WEIGHT CAPABILITY. ARROW SPINE MUST MATCH THE BOW TO SHOOT CONSISTENTLY!

CARBON ARROWS

1. A SPINE TESTER WILL MATCH UP A GROUP OF CARBON SHAFTING TO EACH OTHER IN SPINE. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE CARBON SHAFT MANUFACTURE INHERENTLY RESULTS IN WALL THICKNESS VARIANCE AND SPINE VARIANCE. IT IS USEFUL TO CHECK EACH SHAFT FOR SPINE MATCH UP TO IMPROVE ARROW GROUPING.

2. IT WILL PROVIDE THE CORRECT NOCK ALIGNMENT BASED ON THE STIFFEST CROSS SECTION OF THE SHAFT. VARIANCE IN WALL THICKNESS ALSO RESULTS IN UNEVEN SPINE AROUND THE SHAFT PERIMETER. THE FLIGHT-RITE IS THE PERFECT TOOL TO LOCATE THE STIFFEST PLANE TO ORIENT NOCKS IN ORDER TO GET CONSISTENT SHOOTING.

ALUMINUM ARROWS

METALLIC SHAFTING IS THE MOST UNIFORM IN SPINE FROM SHAFT TO SHAFT.

HOWEVER, THE "FLIGHT-RITE" CAN MAKE ALUMINUM SHAFT SIZE SELECTION MORE ACCURATELY AND GREATLY IMPROVE YOUR SHOOTING. MOST BOWS WILL SHOOT A VARIETY OF ARROW MATERIALS ADEQUATELY, BUT SEEM TO BE VERY CRITICAL WHICH ALUMINUM SIZE WORKS BEST. ARROW CHARTS CAN BE CONFUSING AND DON'T WORK FOR ALL BOWS. BY CHECKING SPINE ON THE TESTER AND COMPARING WITH BARE SHAFT SHOOTING RESULTS, IT CAN BE ACCURATELY DETERMINED HOW MUCH ARROW DEFLECTION (BEND) WORKS BEST ON A GIVEN BOW. ANY ALUMINUM ARROW WITH A SIMILAR DEFLECTION, REGARDLESS OF ARROW SIZE, WILL WORK WELL ON THIS BOW.

Each "FLIGHT-RITE" comes carefully packaged and is certified on the most accurate electronic verification equipment available. Detailed instruction and calibration information are enclosed.
